There might've been a XSS issue on the latest version as someone managed to get the token of another user (me) and log into the server with their account. The person said they didnt use XSS and it was transmitted on accident in a specific event.

While i saw others try to use XSS it seemed like that didnt work. In order to make absolutely sure that this cant happen i tried to implement some XSS Filters. I also went through the code to check for any events that could accidentally transmit the token.

In the version 2.6.6 there is a bug with the context menu not working for the channel tree. This issue is already fixed, view on github here. You could fix it yourself until im done with the next update (accidentally duplicated a string, its super easy).

XSS wasnt a problem but i added filters to make sure it stays like this as well.

TL;DR

The update will be about bugs and security patches/improvements. Also some small features will be added tho more on it once i release it.

I have also changed the way how the versioning is done now. As you might realise, the old version was v6.x.x and now its v2.x.x. This is because i found it to be easier to manage the versions in a different way, so dont worry.

The open source update is almost finished. I wanted to fix some bugs and add some features, including Voice Chat!

I still need to properly implement it into the client but early tests seem to work, tho it will still require some work to make it sounds very nice and smooth.

After a lot of thinking i came to the conclusion that it might be best to not obfuscate the code anymore. Getting started with a new app is already hard and its important to get some trust, especially at the beginning. Because of that the future release will be fully unobfuscated and open-source (it will stay like this too).

The code will probably look messy but i will optimize things more in the future. Right now its kinda in a "early access" state.

Its now possible to generate keys to redeem a role. All you need to do is

key-gen <Role ID> (key-gen 1111 for admin role token)

Edit Groups

You can edit groups now just like you'd edit a channel. More features like changing the banner and icon there will be coming in the future.

Drag & Drop File Upload

Its now possible to upload files via drag & drop right into the chat.

Supported file types can be found in the config.json file

Coming with this feature, a new role permission has been introduced. Its a known bug that its not displaying its setting, but its possible to change it and apply the settings on the top of the page. This will be fixed in the future.

Tenor GIFs!

You can enable Tenor GIF search now. For a tutorial on how to do that, check out this resource.

limit is for how many search results you want in the gif search
